Testimonials from former and current interns:

Lauryl Gonzalez

Student at Cal State University
Major: Marketing

It’s impossible to overstate the importance of marketing in today’s world. When I took this internship, I never planned on pursuing a career in marketing. Still, I was confident that working for a growing female-driven non-profit company would provide me with a valuable skill set I could utilize in any professional career. While there, I learned skills such as narrative writing, branding, communication design, and social media optimization and management. I now understand social media marketing and branding's impact on the professional world. Not to mention Amy (my boss and founder of the initiative) gave excellent guidance where needed and entrusted me with a great deal of independent responsibility, allowing me to grow and learn during my time as an intern. I will never forget what I gained from my experience at From Farms to Incubators.

Isabella Parks

Student at New York University
Major: Engineering

I’m interested in farming and modern agtech. I intend to work in agtech when I graduate and wanted to get involved in the field. As someone who primarily works in engineering, it was educational to see things from the humanities perspective and get to understand the people behind developing agtech. I got a much better grasp on who the people innovating these technologies are and what motivates them to do what they do. It also allowed me to learn more about my own field and see it in action in other people’s lives. I would indeed recommend this internship to others if they want to learn more about agtech. This is a great way to explore your own skills as well as learn more about other parts of the agtech field that often aren’t thought about in great detail.

Gaibi Dhiman

Graduated with an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University

I joined Farms to incubators in May 2020, right in the beginning of the pandemic. I worked directly with the founder Amy Wu. I was responsible for the organizing and maintaining the main F2I website. In the course of maintaining the website, I learned incredibly marketable skills in Squarespace, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, I was able to deep dive into my creative side. Amy Wu has created a conducive environment at Farms to Incubators where I got to learn and perfect my technical skills. I was able to share my ideas and vision for Farms to Incubators. Amy was a patient guide and gave evaluative and informative feedback on my deliverables. I am currently in the process of applying for new positions but I am delighted to say that the scope of my applications has increased tremendously after working with Farms to Incubators. I have applied to places where I wouldn’t have made the cut previously. Working with F2I has landed me in a more confident place in my job search.
