From Farms to Incubators started out as a storytelling platform to use documentary, photography, art and the written word to tell the then untold stories of women founders in AgTech. Turn the clock forward to today and it is extending into a platform that serves as a community and convenor for women in AgTech. With the mission to get more women involved in AgTech, a directory and a mentorship program are in the works.
Inspiration starts in the classroom with the youth and the next generation.
In November 2021, I embarked on a tour in California where I will talk about From Farms to Incubators, the book, and more importantly why more young women should consider a career in this fast-growing field. I made it a point to largely target colleges/universities in underrepresented areas.
I’m proud to share the Fall 2021 tour schedule:
Nov. 15 - Cal State Stanislaus, Turlock, All Day
Nov. 16 – Cal State Stanislaus, Turlock, All Day
Nov. 17 – Fresno State at 11am
Nov. 18 – River Books, Carmel at 11am-12:15pm; Salinas Public Library at 3pm
Nov. 19 – DigitalNEST in Salinas at 3-4pm; Downtown Book and Sound Store in Salinas 6-7pm
Nov. 20 – Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum in King City 4-5pm
I hope that you will join me on the tour, and more importantly support the initiative to uplift a new generation of women into this space and continue to read their stories in From Farms to Incubators.
